This position is responsible for acting as a liaison between employee and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations. The role will also design, execute, and maintain human resources policies and procedures, along with coordinating and guiding all processes including but not limited to, recruiting, employee relations, benefits, and training and development. The ideal candidate should have prior experience working for a software development company with a comprehensive understanding of recruiting tech positions.

Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

  • Provide an effective HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook

Recruiting Process

  • Manage entire recruiting process – post jobs, source resumes, conduct phone interviews, send tests, schedule and attend in-person interviews, and follow-up with candidates regarding hiring decisions
  • Create offer letters and conduct offer calls to candidates, negotiate as necessary
  • Actively search for qualified candidates in the area/industry to reach out to regarding open roles using tools such as LinkedIn
  • Utilize best recruiting sources/platforms, continually researching ways to improve the recruiting process
  • Maintain relationships with outside recruiting firms
  • Attend career fairs to promote open roles

Performance Management, Training, & Reviews

  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management team (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary actions, etc.)
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met
  • Coordinate and maintain the entire reviews process – annual performance reviews, mid-year reviews, and 30-day new hire meetings, working with managers and employees throughout on proper completion of review paperwork as necessary
  • Schedule and attend all review meetings
  • Schedule and attend meetings regarding setting employees’ certifications and goals

Onboarding, New Hire Orientation, & Offboarding

  • Handle tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and offboarding with assistance from the HR Specialist
  • Conduct new hire orientation meetings with all new hires

Employee Engagement Surveys

  • Create, maintain, and send out employee engagement surveys
  • Provide feedback to management team with action items to be taken

Policy Updates, Research, & Compliance

  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department, and organization as a whole, to improve employee experience
  • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent is required
  • 3+ years’ experience in a Human Resources Generalist role
  • Prior HR experience at a software development company
  • Prior experience recruiting for technical roles (software developers, business intelligence, QA Analysts, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of HR disciplines, including recruiting processes, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
  • SHRM certified professional
  • Self-starter who can succeed in a fast-paced work environment
